Dwight Beach, the main public beach in our region, is an idyllic spot to unwind and enjoy a leisurely day by the water. Located on the shores of Lake of Bays, it’s a great spot to pack a picnic, lay out a blanket, and soak up the summer sun. The sandy shores and vast beach make it an ideal destination for families or anyone seeking a peaceful lakeside retreat. Ideal swimming times are between the beginning of July to the end of August, you can expect water temperature of 23 degrees Celsius and above during those months, but it can be otherwise pretty cold for swimming.
Fishing for Trout
Fishing on Lake of Bays can be very rewarding! Lake of Bays has a large variety of sweet-water fish available. It’s a vast lake in different wide open spots and at its deepest point it’s over 200-feet deep! The lake is host to largemouth bass, northern pike, smallmouth bass, lake trout, burbot, yellow perch, rainbow smelt, rainbow trout, white sucker, rock bass, brown bullhead.
