Navigating The Trails and Route Timing

Muskoka is a hub of the Trans Ontario Provincial (TOP) trail network with a number of TOP trails intersecting throughout the region and is an integral part of Round Algonquin Park (RAP) Tour. Terrain is split into Districts, with different trails travelling through their relative districts. We are located right along Trail 77, within District 7.

Good snowfall is typical of for our region mostly because of its geographical location and the fact it receives steady winter streamers coming from Georgian Bay. For an overall look at the trails in Muskoka, visit the OFSC Interactive Trail Guide

When planning your trip, a midweek excursion is usually ideal. Trails are quieter, conditions are better and rates for overnight snowmobiling packages are cheaper.

Trail Tips and Trail Loops

By staying here at Spring Lake Resort, we try to create both a great launch pad for an amazing trip and a great stop along your journey. Being located directly across the road from Trail 77 in Dwight, we can be a great stop on your Round Algonquin Park (RAP) Tour. When our restaurant is open we love to keep our sledders satisfied with delicious and home cooked hearty meals from our family kitchen. For those who don’t know, The RAP Tour is a fantastic expedition that shows off the beauty of Ontario and some of the most highly touted scenery and routes that District 7 has to offer. It takes time, commitment, and effort to tackle this all-encompassing 850 km loop of Ontario’s Algonquin Park. In total it can take roughly three to five days to sled this self-guided terrain. However, it is adjustable based on how hard you want to ride and how you plan your route.
