It has been 6 years since we became the new owners of Spring Lake Resort and a lot has changed. Veterans of our resort always stop by and comment on how everything looks new, maintained, and tell us that we have done an excellent job and they really appreciate the efforts we put in to keep everything sparkling.

When we first took over, the restaurant was in shambles. The décor was dated to the 80s; the walls were a beige color but had strange darkened spots on them. It was a sight to behold for sure but we even as we looked over the condition of everything we knew we could make it better and make people love it again.

Our first major changes happened to the restaurant, we decided as a family on a beautiful burnt orange for the walls to make the restaurant feel warm and homey. We replaced the all of the old metallic tables and chairs with modern wooden ones. We completely redid the décor to make it comfortable to us, and people noticed it and loved it.

We didn’t stop there, the restaurant felt almost complete, but the rooms were still outdated and in some cases falling apart. All of the work that needed to be done in the rooms, we did ourselves! We installed new carpets, repainted whole rooms, replaced all of the old mattresses with new pillow top ones, and completely renovated the bathrooms. We added a wireless internet, new LCDs TVs, DVD players, and new mini fridges, microwaves, and coffee makers in the rooms for customers’ convenience. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it to hear from our patrons that they really enjoyed their stay.

With the restaurant and the rooms looking modernized, we turned our attention to the grounds. It must have been a long time since any attention was given to the gardens because they were all overgrown weeds everywhere. It was a lengthy process, but we removed almost everything and planted smarter livelier choices. We added a picnic area with tables, charcoal BBQs for our customer’s enjoyment outside. Also, lounge chairs and picnic tables on our private beach, and the dock for fishing, as a base for canoes and kayaks on the lake, swimming and enjoying the water sports. Even now, season after season we are maintaining our grounds, beach, and walking trails making sure everything looks beautiful come summer.

Over the years, we have made so many improvements that I have not even touched on. It would take hours for me to explain how much work we have put in during these six years. We would like to thank everyone who has visited us and given us the encouragement to keep improving. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are now.
